The Glenholm Centre

Enjoy great hospitality at The Glenholm Centre Bed & Breakfast

The Glenholm Centre is a good quality 3 star (Scottish Tourist Board and AA) rated guest house. This holiday accommodation is particularly suitable for those interested in visiting the towns of Peebles and Biggar which are part of the Scottish Borders Region and also an ideal base for exploring the Lanarkshire area.

Rooms at Glenholm Centre

Due to having spent 9 years in Zambia, the owners, Neil and Fiona, have chosen typical Scottish decoration with a hint of Africa.  The house has 3 comfortable bedrooms and has been expanded and converted from the original Glenholm School House.

All rooms have an ensuite shower and toilet and have tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, radio, DVD player, video and colour television.  Heaters are provided in all rooms and CDs are available through TV Channels and CCTV pictures showing pictures from the wildlife pond, in particular a badgers den.

A suite  for larger parties is available, ideal for a family or group of up to four people, this is on the ground floor of the adjacent building. The cottage suite has two twin bedded rooms equipped with all the facilities in the rooms of the main house, a bathroom and a kitchen. The kitchen has a spacious fridge, a microwave oven and a small two ring stove, although is not intended for self catering purposes. Both rooms have television, video, radio, DVD player and coffee and tea making facilities.

Bed and breakfast and half board meals are on offer and the Tea Room serves lunch throughout the day (except on Mondays) and packed lunches are available on request.

Having been awarded gold standard from the Green Tourism Business Scheme, the Glenholm Centre is committed to the environment and are also hosts of the Glenholm Wildlife Project. VisitScotland has also recognised the Centre.  The Glenholm Centre has also been recognised as a suitable venue for walkers and cyclists by VisitScotland.

Great food at Glenholm

The Glenholm Centre prides itself in providing farmhouse cooking at its best. Indeed the AA have recognised Fiona's exceptional cooking with awards for both a very special breakfast and dinner.

The dining room, which has spectacular views up the glen towards the hills of Chapelgill and Cardon offers freshly prepared meals normally served buffet style. Vegetarian options are always available. The B&B will do their utmost to meet all dietary requirements if notified in advance.

The Glenholm Centre has a residents bar which is stocked with a small range of beverages including a selection of beers from the local Broughton Ales brewery, and a small list of highly regarded wines provided by their neighbours Bairds Wines.

The Centre is part of a working farm, which is stocked mainly with black face and grey face sheep. In addition the farm is home to several pet donkeys (some of which are miniature) and Shetland ponies. The visitors are encouraged to explore the area which makes up Cardon Farm and take advantage of the thousand of acres of fields and clearly marked walks

Please note that in the interests of guests, the Glenholm Centre is a non-smoking establishment.
