Take a fun filled trip to Scotland's longest running hot air balloon festival. The balloons will fly each day during the early morning on Saturday and Sunday at around 6am and early evening Friday to Sunday at approximately 6pm. This depends on the weather - wet and windy weather is the balloon pilot's worst enemy!
There will be lots of entertainment for familes and children including music, dancers, a fun fair, birds of prey to see up close, and food and craft stalls making the event a great family day out.
Entertainment also includes the Classic Vehicle Show. Owners bring their classic motorcycles, cars, agricultural and military vehicles to take part in what has become one of the most popular features at the festival’s Saturday and Sunday fun days.
Why not attend the spectacular show on Saturday evening after 9pm, the balloons will gather for the 'EVENING GLOW' - the colourful balloons pulsating in time to music, and lighting up the night sky. A GREAT FAMILY EVENT NOT TO BE MISSED! Make this event your next family outing.
There is no admission fee to this festival, but tickets will be on sale for an exciting raffle; and a souvenir programme, full of colour photographs and interesting information, will be well worth purchasing as a keepsake.
The annual festival is held in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire making it within easy access of Glasgow and the central belt of Scotland.
