Louise Higgins

With the opportunity to dedicate her time to painting, Louise Higgins has evolved a style which communicates through a personal, pictorial, narrative. Penetrating the logic of the everyday, we can glimpse a world through the artist's individual sense of space, volume and colour.

"My mind constantly wanders to a place where I can see pictures everywhere.  I came from a small Ayrshire Village but have now settled in South Lanarkshire.  The "landscape" in the shires has crept into my psyche it seems and my new work has appeared as a world where people and landscape intereact.  I have started letting my mind wander again after some time away".

And for the young ones, from Monday 9th July until Friday 13th July, the Arts Centre is running a drawing and painting week for children aged 8 - 11 years from 10.00 am - 11.30 am and from 12.30 pm - 2.00 pm.  This is an introduction to drawing and painting using a range of materials and techniques and costs £4.50 per workshoip £3.50 concessions).
