SOME of the most historic and well known buildings in Lanarkshire will be opening their doors to the public this weekend.
The annual Doors Open Day gives people the chance to explore buildings which are not normally open to the public. The event takes place over the weekend of September 10/11.
Chair of South Lanarkshire Council’s Enterprise Resources Committee, Councillor Chris Thompson, said: “Doors Open Day provides a fantastic opportunity for the public to visit buildings they would not normally be allowed access to.
“Some of them have an important place in the history of South Lanarkshire and are simply quite stunning examples of architecture.
“I hope as many families as possible take advantage of the fantastic offers.”
