World Heritage Sites
 

Lanarkshire has not one but two world heritage sites - New Lanark and the Antonine Wall

These are amazing places internationally recognised as being on a par with the Taj Mahal, the Pyramids in Egypt, the Acropolis in Athens.
 

World's Oldest Man
 

Lanarkshire was also the home of the world's oldest man, John Taylor, a miner from Leadhills.

Born in 1633, he died in 1770 - at the age of 137!
