Croy is situated on the B802 between Kilsyth and Cumbernauld with a population of approximately eleven hundred people

From its early days as a mining community the present village dates from the 1930's and has grown in stages since then.

The current village was originally created to accommodate families of miners from several surrounding local communities including Smithston, Auchinstarry, Drumglass and Craiglinn.

Croy has produced more than a fair share of world famous sporting and musical talent, from footballers like Celtic & Scotland's Jimmy Quinn, accordianist Will Starr, to opera singer Joe McBride.   Croy is also famous for its Silver Band which started in the area around 1875 and is still going strong.
