Kelvin Valley Forth and Clyde

The Kelvin Valley runs between the northern edge of Cumbernauld and the southern slopes of the Kilsyth Hills.

The main town of the area is Kilsyth while Banknock and Twechar are considered to be a natural part of the Kelvin Valley area although situated in neighbouring council areas.
 

Countryside Attractions


Countryside attractions include the Forth and Clyde Canal, Colzium Estate, Antonine Wall World Heritage Site, Dumbreck Marsh and Dullatur Nature Reserves, Banton Loch, woodlands, wetlands and an extensive path network.

Integral to the area are a number of important features and locations including Auchinstarry Basin & Marina, and  Burngreen Park.

With plenty to do for the whole family, including walking, cycling, angling, canoeing, and even water walking the Kelvin Valley offers a fantastic day out.

 

Travel Information

Follow the M80, then join the A80, following signs for Cumbernauld.

After taking the cut-off posting the Services in Cumbernauld, go through the next roundabout heading for Castlecary and Bonnybridge. 

At roundabout take the 1st exit onto Wyndford Road, turn left onto the A803.

Turn left onto Station Road, turn right onto Duntreath Terrace, arrive at G65, Kilsyth.
