Alexander Taylor, The Waterside Bakery, 10-11 Waterside Street,Strathaven, is the oldest bakery in Scotland.
It began trading in 1820 and is still owned and run by the Taylor family. Five generations on, Alexander Taylor, The Waterside Bakery still produces a fantastic range of Scottish and continental breads and baked goods. The bakery is unique and unrivaled, and is worth a visit.
Taylors sell artisan breads and have a cafe open 7 days per week. The Flour Store Gallery holds two exhibitions of art and crafts per year - in May and November.
Products are available from the bakery and at farmers markets (Hamilton, Clarkston, Overton Farm and Strathaven). Phone in your order and collect from the shop or market stall.
