Genealogy has never been more popular than it is today. Croy Historical Society was formed in the year 2000 and aims to help stimulate interest in the local history.
Croy Historical Society aims to provide access for interested persons to their databases and statistics from Census Records and access to their Photographic Archive.

Croy Historical Society was formed on 4th September 2000 by a group of villagers and former villagers with the aims of stimulating interest in the local history via identifying, documenting, cataloguing and preserving all available material of local historical interest to Croy village and district.
The work is carried out using both traditional and electronic means.
The Society has the use of the Heritage Room in Croy Miners' Welfare & Community Centre. Also to be seen are the many display showcases full of memorabilia from a wide selection of aspects of the heritage of Croy and surrounding areas.
Croy Historical Society Meetings
Twice weekly meetings / workshops are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11.30am till 2.30pm and in the evenings from 7.30 till 9.30pm.
Talks and lectures are delivered from time to time as advertised and their speakers give talks to schools and other organisations on request. Croy Historical Society occassionally arrange talks on a selection of relevant subjects such as Croy Railway Station Area.
Online facilities are available for family history research.
The society does not undertake individual research commissions but some more experienced members will undertake such work on a private & personal basis.
