The Monklands Heritage Society aims to preserve and protect the historical, archaeological and architectural heritage of the monklands area.

The society aim to encourage interest in the local history, flora & fauna of Airdrie, Coatbridge and surrounding areas. 

From September to April, on the second Monday of each month the society invite speakers on a variety of historical topics. Refreshments and an opportunity to chat are available afterwards.

Their friendly members are always glad to help out an amateur historian.

Coatbridge has other fantastic attractions for the whole family, such as Sumerlee museum of Industrial Life and the Time Capsule.
