Lanarkshire Golf Highlights
On the eastern edge of the pretty market town of Biggar, set-out on level ground in between the river Clyde and the river Tweed, Biggar Golf Club is a charming course surrounded on three sides by the rolling hills of the Scottish borders.
Those looking for a challenge will enjoy the fine setting of Carluke Golf Club. The 11th hole (Glenburn) and the 12th hole (Hill of Hope) are considered among the best in the area. The 11th is a par 3 surrounded by four well placed bunkers and calls for some very accurate golf.
One of the oldest golf clubs in the world, Lanark has had over 160 years to get it right. Here, on high moorland on the edge of the town, the golf is everything it should be: challenging and open to the elements so that two rounds are never the same.
For beautiful views of the Campsie Hills and Kelvin Valley, head to the Westerwood Golf Club in Cumbernauld, one of Scotland’s premier golf facilities.
