Palacerigg Country Park
Located in the south east of Cumbernauld, Palacerigg Country Park spans 300 hectares of grassland, woodlands, moorlands and ponds.
The park hosts a variety of wildlife including some rare breeds of Tamworth pigs, Scots grey and Scots dumpy poultry and wandering peacocks! Also in the area are wild deer, kestrels and two separate breeds of owl.
The park includes an excellent new children's play area. the visitor centre is home to a museum and café (3 star visitor attraction) and has a mural by the artist Alasdair Gray. There are 2 traditionally built longhouses which are used to demonstrate a variety of woodland crafts.
Entrance to the park is free making it an ideal destination for a fun-filled family day out.
