Andrew Hay Exhibition: Form and Narrative in an Age of Desire

Continuing its tradition of bringing leading contemporary visual and applied arts artists to its gallery space, North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre is proud to present this major exhibition by one of Scotland’s foremost contemporary artists, Andrew Hay. Hay is an artist who is always pursuing untried and untested territory through an uncompromising determination to experiment. He tries to produce different series of works within a diversity of remarkably contrasting images and colour; excavated from memories past, juxtaposed with a present day reality and often reflecting his particular interest in film theory which he studied at the University of Stirling. Images which resist categorisation and it is fair to say do not always sit comfortably within Scottish art. He is always striving to a sense of discovery linked to the use of new mediums which can be seen in the work on display. Numbers are limited so it is advisable to call the Heritage Centre in advance to book a place: 01698 274 590. A workshop for primary school classes is available. Call 01236 638352.
