Hamilton Park Racecourse stages 17 race meetings each year during April to September.

Voted best racecourse in Scotland by The Times, it is situated just of the M74 and M8. Once inside it is a different world, with parklands, beautiful manicured lawns and exciting horse racing.

There is plenty of entertainment for children such as bouncing castles and face painting. Children are always welcome and under 16s are admitted free.

Should you prefer to do the riding yourself, Lanarkshire is home to numerous riding centres.

The centres listed are all members of the British Horse Society. All BHS Approved Establishments are inspected at least once a year and establishments only pass if they have met the most stringent standards of instruction, safety and horse care.
