If you're planning to fit everything in, make sure you get an early start and head down to Strathclyde Country Park. Here, you're really spoiled for choice, with loads of activities both on land and on the loch. As a licensed outdoor activity centre, the Park has something for everyone - whether they're thrill-seeking kids or professional sportspeople.
You can get your family on the water with total confidence, knowing that there are always Lifeboats patrolling. If you're just looking for fun, there are Pedalos, Bumper Boats, Wave Bobs and Canadian Canoes - great for messing about! If you're more of an enthusiast, at the Water Centre you can do anything from rowing and dinghy sailing, to canoeing and water ski-ing - but remember, call ahead and book your activity before you get there.
Prefer to stick to dry land? There's a huge variety of loch-side paths, woodland tracks and wetlands to choose from. And if you want to see more of the varied and beautiful parkland, mountain bikes are available to hire. There are plenty of snack bars and picnic benches everywhere, giving you the chance to take a break. And who knows? Maybe you'll catch a glimpse of some of the 150 species of wild animals and birds that make their home in the Park.
After the morning's excitement, it's time to pay a visit to M&D's - Scotland's Theme Park, at the heart of Strathclyde Country Park. Almost a day out in itself, the theme park offers some fantastic rides. With names like The Tornado, The Express and White Water, you know you're in for something spectacular! But there are plenty of gentler rides for younger kids (or the faint-hearted!).
At the end of a wild day out, what could be better than a trip to Amazonia? Find out more about tropical wildlife by exploring Scotland's largest indoor rainforest attraction. And with daily handling sessions, you'll also get the chance to get your hands on a Tarantula, a Giant Millipede or even a Python! Still feeling fearless?
