New Lanark Mill Hotel

New Lanark is surrounded by native woodlands and situated close to the Falls of Clyde. The village of New Lanark was founded in 1785 as a cotton spinning village and became famous as the site of Robert Owen's pioneering social reforms. The Hotel also has a Green Tourism Gold Award.

After restoration the village is now a world class tourist attraction and has its own village community. New Lanark Mill Hotel itself is an award winning conversion from an 18th century mill with the New Lanark Visitor Centre only a short walk away. Guests can enjoy fantastic views across the village, conservation area and River Clyde.

The Hotel features 38 rooms, all spacious and comfortably furnished. 33 of the 38 rooms include an ensuite with bath and shower and the other five have wheelchair access and a shower suitable for wheelchair users.  The hotel also has full leisure facilities including a 16m swimming pool, gym, and beauty room. With the exception of beauty treatments, access to the leisure facilities is included within the room rates.

Travel

By car or coach: New Lanark, by Lanark, is less than an hour’s drive from Glasgow (25 miles/40 kms) or Edinburgh (35 miles/56 Kms) and is well sign-posted from all major routes.

By train: 2 every hour (1 every hour at weekends) from Glasgow Central or Motherwell to Lanark railway station (1.5 miles/2.5 km from New Lanark). On foot: New Lanark lies on a particularly attractive section of the Clyde Walkway, close to the Falls of Clyde.
