Stonylea Cottage lies within Palacerigg Country Park between Greengairs and Cumbernauld and is ideally situated for exploring central Scotland. Train stations in nearby Croy and Cumbernauld give direct access to Edinburgh and Glasgow city centres.
Accommodation within the two hundred year old cottage (now with gas central heating and double glazing) comprises one double bedroom and one twin plus “z bed” room, TV/sitting room with open fire, dining/TV room with log burner plus modern kitchen and bathroom. The south facing conservatory overlooks the large secluded garden, with outside seating and barbecue available. Your pets are welcome at Stonylea.
Palacerigg Country Park itself has an 18 hole golf course and clubhouse, a Visitor Centre, café and exhibition areas as well as 740 acres of woods, fields and nature trails and currently a small livestock and poultry collection.
Riding is available from nearby Tannoch Stables and other nearby local attractions include: the Antonine Wall World Heritage Site, providing interesting walks; a golf driving range; Westerwood and Dullater golf courses; World of Wings falconry centre; Tryst Sports Centre with swimming pool and a variety of local pubs and restaurants.
