Friends of Cambuslang Park reveal 2017 activities

Local Lanarkshire community group, Friends of Cambuslang Park have unveiled their calendar of events for 2017.

Starting in February and running until December, there is fun for the whole family, including the pets.

Further details on all the events are more will be announced by Friends of Cambuslang Park in due course. 


Quiz night

Where: Whitefield Bowling Club

When: Saturday, February 18th, 7.30pm

Details: Think you know it all? Put your general knowledge to the test at the Whitefield Bowling Club Quiz night. Teams are asked to be at the bowling club at 7.30pm sharp with the quiz commencing at 8.00pm


Fairy Walks

Where: Cambuslang Park

When: Saturday, May 20th

Details: Explore the park like never before with this family friendly adventure. Further details will be available closer to the time of the event.


Bark in the park

Where:Cambuslang Park

When: Sunday, October 1st

Details: Perfect for your four-legged companions, Bark in Park gives Cambuslang’s canine population their chance to shine. The event includes a doggy treat treasure trail, canine arts and crafts, and other dog-friendly activities.


Hallowe’en party

Where: Cambuslang Institute

When: Saturday, October 28th

Details: Dig out your scariest costume and prepare for some frighteningly good fun with the Friends of Cambuslang annual Hallowe’en Party.


Back in Time

Where: Cambuslang Institute

When: Saturday, November 18th

Details: Friends of Cambuslang Park will celebrate their 10th anniversary with a Back in Time event. Head along to the Cambuslang Institute where you can check out old photographs, maps and memorabilia of the town.


Carol singing

Where: Cambuslang Park

When: Saturday, December 16th

Details: The festive season will well and truly arrive in Cambuslang with a traditional carol singing service in the park.


In addition to these events, visitors to Cambuslang are encouraged to check out the town’s central park, where they can enjoy various attractions such as the band stand area, or spend time exploring the park’s woodland area.
