Race down to Scotkart Cambuslang for some family fun this autumn
Race down to Scotkart, Cambuslang this autumn for some family fun and to escape the typical Scottish weather.
This accessible activity centre is just a 10-minute drive from Glasgow city centre and offers three different sizes of racing karts and lanes for children aged 8+, teens and adults. On a Saturday drivers can enjoy two 11 minute sessions for just £25 per person.
Ideal for children’s birthday parties, ScotKart offers you the chance to save up to £50 if you book your group in mid-week. From Monday to Thursday between 4.30pm and 6pm you can secure a kart for up to 12 children (aged 8-12) for just £180.
First time go-kart drivers need not worry. Those aged between eight to 12 years can benefit from an introduction to karting which will see participants briefed by the instructors in technique and safety skills before taking to the lanes.
When you’re not behind the wheel, you can enjoy the arcade attractions onsite, battling it out on games like air hockey and claw machines. There are plenty of vending machines with a variety of snacks, as well as a cafe that sells Italian coffee, pizza, hot dogs and soft drinks for when you’ve worked up an appetite on the lanes.
For a slightly different day out, Scotkart Cambuslang is also home to Combat City - a military themed laser tag arena. It offers an indoor and outdoor playing experience on Astroturf; with over 17 buildings providing cover.
Designed to be like being in a video game, Combat City weapons are ultra-realistic in their weight, fire up to 450 rounds per minute on full auto, and are deadly accurate when you aim through the red dot sight.
Your targets are the head sensors the enemy wear – every time you hit them, they flash and they lose valuable Health Points, until you hear the call ‘Man down…..Man Down’.
Combat City is a completely painless version of paintball and because it’s on Astroturf there’s no mess! The arenas are designed by ex-military personnel to offer a totally immersive gaming experience, similar to the ‘maps’ found in games like ‘Battlefield’ and ‘Call of Duty’. Enjoy 30 minutes of military-themed fun for just £10 per person.
While Combat City offers players the chance to have fun outside, participants can easily go indoors when the Scottish weather turns up, making this the ideal autumn adventure. All the family can enjoy the mission based games, with the youngest participants starting at six years. Why not bring your little soldiers along and see who really has what it takes to be at the top of the ranks?
Combat City is the perfect Sunday activity for families, with a group of four being able to play for 60 minutes at a cost of just £50. Groups must be mixed contain one or two parents and two or three children.
