Union J light up Lanarkshire

UK chart topping boyband Union J will bring some Christmas cheer to Lanarkshire this festive season, as they switch on the lights in Hamilton.

The boys will be taking to the stage in the town square on Saturday, November 19. The band are following in the footsteps of fellow X Factor finalists Jedward who performed at last year’s ceremony.

The Christmas lights will be switched on at 6pm, with entertainment running throughout the day.

This is second time Union J have visited Hamilton. Last October the boys dropped in to the town’s popular costume shop Dazzle to collect costumes ahead of their Halloween performance on stage in Glasgow.

This is sure to be popular event with thousands of people expected to be in attendance. In order to accommodate visitors, Castle Street will be closed to traffic between 1pm and 6.30pm, with Quarry Street closed to traffic between 9am and 7pm.
