Woolly Weekend at Museum of Rural Life
Visitors can watch sheep shearing demonstrations, enjoy woolly craft activities and have a go at spinning, felting and knitting as well as the chance to get up close to the resident Alpacas and Clydesdale horses

Meet the Westyett Alpacas and learn how Alpaca fibre and yarn is used.
Yarn Cake Café, Learning Centre 11:00 - 13:00 & 14:00 - 16:00
Make a miniature sheep, watch spinning demonstrations and have a go at peg loom weaving with Glasgow's award winning knitting café, The Yarn Cake.
Lamb’s lugs, Land Gallery window 12:00 - 16:00
Create your very own sheep ears.
Head up to the farm to watch stockman Maggie at work, find out more about the Blackface flock in the demonstrations throughout the day. 11:00, 13:00 & 14:00.
Pick up a trail at the front desk and find the ‘yarn bombed’ objects and hidden knitted animals throughout the museum.

Gael Music, Tools Gallery,
Gael Music will launch at the Woolly Weekend, with a performance, a ceilidh and a chance to play/ask questions about the various instruments on show.
Sunday 10:00 - 12:30 & 13:30 - 16:00
Storytelling, Drop in,
Jen will be spinning tall tales traditional stories and watch spinning demonstrations.
