Dalzell Park Estate
Dalzell Park's gardens are hugely varied, from ornately planted gardens to ancient oaks dating back to the time of the Scottish war of independence. Highlights include historic Dalzell House, the Japanese Gardens, arboretum, mausoleum, Lord Gavin's Temple, and St Patrick's Chapel.
The Arboretum has many different types of exotic tropical trees, collected by well travelled botanists and explorers throughout the ages.
The estate adjoins the RSPB Baron's Haugh Nature reserve which is home to a wide range of wildlife including woodpeckers and deer. The estates buildings are magnificent and are even believed to hold the ghost of the green lady!
Families and children will love exploring the path network throughout the estate.
