Drumboy Lodge is a 4 star, self-catering property overlooking the beautiful Loudounhill and the Irvine Valley, where the Battle of Loudounhill and the Battle of Drumclog were fought. Drumboy Farm is a working farm, which we will be delighted to show you around. There are many kinds of animals on the farm along with different kinds of wild-life in the surrounding areas.

Drumboy Lodge Facilities

The lodge offers four spacious rooms, 2 doubles (with en-suites) and 2 twin bedded rooms. There is also a very spacious kitchen / dining room, lounge, kids TV room and a bathroom with a bath, to enable you to relax in at the end of the day. The house is double glazed with oil central heating and has wheelchair access throughout. As the lodge sleeps 9 it is ideal for families as well as groups.


Nearby attractions to explore

There is plenty to explore nearby, with walks, fishing opportunities, numerous leisure activities and golf in the surrounding areas as well the lovely market town of Strathaven. Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling and Ayr are only a short car journey away.

Why not visit the bustling town of Hamilton and explore the beautiful 5 star Chatelherault? This 500-acre country park boasts a fun visitor centre with galleries and exhibitions on South Lanarkshire’s history and wildlife. Entrance into the park is free! 

The nearby town of East Kilbride also provides many family activities and another 5 star attraction, the National Museum of Rural Life. Visitors can take a step back in time and explore Scottish rural life in this 1950s working farm.

For those who love the outdoors, there is Whitelee Wind Farm in East Kilbride which provides many walking, cycling and horse riding opportunities. There is also a fantastic visitor centre with a learning hub, exhibition centre, café, shop and viewing deck.

Travel Information

Directions: From Strathaven:

Take the A71 Strathaven to Kilmarnock road.
Around 5 miles from Strathaven, you will come to the village of Drumclog. The Drumclog church will be on your left hand side at a cross-roads.
Turn right here into Meadowfoot Road. There is a sign for the 'Regal Fishery' facing you.
Continue along this road for about 2.5 miles, until you face a collection of houses, at a Y junction. Turn left here.
Lodge should be on your immediate left. Near Drumclog Village on A71
