Natural Wildlife at Drumpellier Country Park, Coatbridge

Drumpellier Country Park, based in Coatbridge, has the benefit of two large natural lochs which attract a huge variety of wildlife and natural flora. The vistor centre is open all year round and contains plenty of interesting information about the history of the loch and the wildlife in the area.

The area has also been home to early settlements with flint tools and evidence of a crannog (an iron age dwelling on the loch held up on stilts). With a train to tour the loch, a cafeteria and boats for hire this park has plenty to offer for a great fun-filled day out.

There are many activities to do at Drumpellier Country Park including nature trails, orienteering and a full Programme of Ranger Walks and Activities. Various seasonal activities are also available including boating and canoeing, making Drumpellier Park a great place for outdoor pursuits.
