Low Parks Museum offers a fascinating insight into the many towns and villages in this part of the Clyde Valley and has entertaining and informative displays about the history of South Lanarkshire.
The museum is based in some of Hamilton’s oldest historic buildings, which have undergone extensive refurbishment, and which were once part of the Duke of Hamilton's estate.
The fascinating story and regimental records and artefacts of the Cameronian (Scottish Rifles) Regiment, which disbanded in 1968, are included in the collection.
There is an ever changing exhibitions programme and interactive sessions for children and adults alike to bring history to life.
The Assembly Room provides a lovely venue for weddings (excluding reception/ sit down meals), small concerts, recitals and seminars, with its musician's gallery which perfectly captures the mood of the 18th century.
Entrance to the museum is free. Tours of the nearby Mausoleum can be booked at the museum.
